Kathryn Rodenbach,

I have had a lifelong
interest in art cultivated
at a very early age.  I
have explored many
mediums over the
years including making
greeting cards,
papermaking,
bookmaking and
beaded jewelry, but I
find myself returning
again and again to
painting as a means of
expressing myself.

I draw inspiration from
many sources, but find
my greatest stimulus
comes from nature.
My current work
reflects my love of
nature in many varied
ways.  Although the
forms and composition
are mostly abstract;
there are definite
organic elements in the
work that suggest
trees, flowers, coral or
landscapes.  I am
incorporating a great
deal of texture in my
pieces, building layer
upon layer on the
canvas to add
mystique and interest.
