In painting, I am basically a realist…almost to the point of being a photographic
realist. This may be due to another love, photography. I take hundreds of
photos on my trips, locally and around the world, and then feel the need to
paint many of the scenes, or to embellish photos with additional painting. Some
photos, however, just speak for themselves.
Major juried shows: Hoosier Salon; Indianapolis Museum of Art; State Fair
Professional, (both in ‘metal’ and painting); Wabash Valley at Swope; Blue Grass
Open in Louisville. Work also appeared at the Brown County Art Gallery, and
several regional shows. My photography has been constantly winning awards
the past few years, as well as my jewelry.
Major honors: Work selected for national show by juror, Robert Indiana (161
pieces selected out of over 1200 entered). Work selected for national show by
the curator of the American Collection of the National Gallery of Art in
Washington, D.C.
