Having a life-long interest in drawing, Heidi Harner began studying watercolor painting
while living in Colorado as a young woman. Since then her medium of choice is oil paints,
doing both plein air and studio painting. Subjects of interest include horses, dogs, farm
animals, and landscapes. Her appreciation and concern for animals was modeled to her
by her mother, who helped launch a local Humane Society when they were living in Minot,
North Dakota in the early 1980's. Her roots in the Great Plains of North Dakota have inspired
her love for horses and wide open spaces.
Heidi is an associate member of WAOW (Women Artists of the West). She is a member of
the CCA Gallery in Zionsville, Indiana, and the online western art gallery, Dakota Rocks.
A BFA from Purdue University and her experiences as a professional art conservation
framer have helped refine Heidi's natural abilities as an artist. View Heidi's website at
