April Willy

April defines herself as a
painter/illustrator and
divides her time evenly
between the two.

After graduating from
Herron School of Art, she
free-lanced as an
advertising and editorial
illustrator servicing local
and national companies
for over 20 years.

April began painting
seriously in the late 90’s
and began to show her
work in central Indiana
galleries. She joined the
CCA Gallery upon its
move to Zionsville
from Broad Ripple in
2002.

In 2000, April had an
opportunity to illustrate
her first children’s book,
‘Have You Ever Seen A
Moose Taking A Bath?’
followed by her second
book,  ‘Have You Ever
Seen A Moose Brushing
His Teeth?’. She has
published ‘Three Cups’
and ‘Why Is Mommy
Sleeping?’ since then, and
is currently working on
her fifth children’s book,
‘Full Moon Maxi’.

April has won many local,
state and two national
awards, most notably a
Society of Illustrator’s
merit award, the
Governor’s Choice award
and an American Women
Artists award.

Along with the CCA
Gallery of Zionsville, you
can view more of April’s
work on her website at
aprilwilly.com, at the
Hoosier Salon Gallery in
Broad Ripple, The
Magdalena Gallery of
Fine Art in Carmel and at
Gallery 423 in Columbus.
