As long as I can remember, I always liked art.  My mother fostered appreciation for all
forms of it.  I grew up in Lithuania and Russia, and my childhood was filled with trips to
galleries, symphony halls and theaters.

I chose Chemistry as my profession, and I like to believe it was because I saw the creative
beauty in Chemical formulas!  Well, nature is beautiful!

I always liked to draw, but never took my interest seriously. I hadn’t touched watercolors
since I was a child.  But one day my son left his paints on the table and ran off to play.  I
picked up his brush, not knowing that it would take me on a wonderful journey I never
dreamed of!  It happened almost ten years ago.

I started with watercolor classes at the Indianapolis Art with Jo Ann Cardwell - great
teacher and artist – she taught me how to paint! These days, every time I have an
opportunity I travel and take workshops from well known and recognized watercolorists.
Among them Joseph Fettingis, Frank Webb, Jean Grastorf, Diane Maxey, James Toogood,
Betsy Dillard Stroud and Alvaro Castagnet, David Taylor. I feel like I am growing as an artist
every day and still developing the style of my very own.  I admire watercolors that are
spontaneous and free, and infuse the viewer with a feeling of what they see.

I entered numerous local and state exhibits, including Indiana Watercolor Society and
State Fair, and won awards, including “Best of Show”.  A couple of years ago I became
Signature Member of Watercolor Society of Indiana.

I have made a number of sales and I love to do commission works! I have done portraits
of children, paintings of houses and pets. I love to paint animals, and dogs are my
favorite…

I paint watercolors (and starting oils now as well) to fulfill my own passion for the nature’s
beauty! Painting changed and enriched my life!  I love watercolor medium because of its
lightness.  I see colors of the sunset or of a blooming flower, or the magnificence of the
city skyline, I see beauty of my children’s faces the way I have never seen before!
