I try to look at my subject matter from a
different point of view, be it angle,
focus, color or detail. It’s all about
finding the “extraordinary in the
ordinary”. Rather than limit my
photography to a singular theme, I like
to explore all types of subjects.
Zionsville has recently held my attention
as it has a wide variety of interesting
possibilities. My photo called “Dress
Shop”, for instance, was photographed
right here on Main Street. I plan on
featuring Zionsville in my regular gallery
hanging sometime this spring or summer.
I have often spent several hours
standing in the cold, or all day driving
around, taking dozens and dozens of
shots, just to come up with one or two
that I am proud of. Be it a simple
flower, rocking chairs on a porch in
French Lick, or a Harley motorcycle, I
hope you find something to enjoy in my
work.

I use mixed media on fabric to build
layers of color and design that are
integrated in unique ways to make a
whole. Dyes and textile paints applied
in varying ways make a background
for techniques such as stamping, silk
screening, drawing, appliqué and
foiling. Stitching by hand or by
machine unites layers of fabric and
sometimes paper. Attaching found
objects or beads creates yet another
layer of design, usually the last.
Inspirations come from a sense of
longing, nature, history, the colors and
designs of folk art, the beauty of the
written word, a walk of faith.
I make art for the fun and joy of
expression, for the loveliness of the
materials, for the rhythms of the work,
for the deepening of vision and for the
desire to add beauty to the world.
I earned a BA degree in Art Education
from the University of Northern
Colorado and have practiced and
taught my art for over thirty years. My
work has been published and has
been juried into several regional and
national shows. Currently I am a
member of Studio Art Quilt Associates,
INfiber and the Quilters’ Guild of
Indianapolis.

I Love to Paint!!! I will paint
anything that will stay still
long enough.
There is an energy to my
paintings. Some say they are
spiritual. Some say they are
bold. I say that they are
both.
My paintings are bold in
color, content and
composition. They are also
intertwined with the Spirit.
Put those together and
well... you be the judge.
Thanks for looking
